In addition to the services and programs offered through the primary care clinics, El Centro del Barrio operates several programs for special populations.

CentroMed operates six primary care (medical and dental) health clinics co-located within or adjacent to seven homeless shelters: the Children's Shelter, Infants' Shelter, Children's Shelter Residential Treatment Center, La Paloma de Paz (Battered Women's Shelter), Salvation Army Hope Center, San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries (SAMM) Shelter, Dwyer Center, and Dullnig House. Social services provided include outreach, counseling, child development, case management, and substance abuse screening and treatment referral. At CentroMed's Ryan White Early Intervention Services Program (RW EIS), people living with HIV/AIDS receive comprehensive medical care, mental health services, pharmaceutical assistance, case management, and referral services. CentroMed's outreach team provides HIV testing and counseling and educational information on prevention and risk reduction to people at risk for HIV infection. The Lanier Student Health Clinic (LSHC) provides medical, dental and psychiatric during the school year to a medically underserved population of students and their families on the grounds of Lanier High School. On-site care to this targeted group helps to reduce absences by preventing and treating illness. It also serves a vital function of preventing future health problems through education, preventative services such as teeth cleaning and physicals, and early intervention.
